Zambian Ministry of Health
Living Hope Clinical Foundation is pursuing partnership with the Zambian Ministry of Health in a project to demonstrate how the community can impact HIV transmission and outcomes. The project will run over a two year period and incorporate community members to facilitate the testing and treatment of persons living with HIV in their community with the goal of creating a generation free from new HIV infections. The community’s goal is to be the first community in the world to demonstrate no new HIV infections by using treatment centered prevention combined with other established prevention modalities. The project involves the engage of community leaders and changing community and behavioral norms and messages about HIV, and then utilizing the community to ensure quality outcomes. This ambitious project has a two year budget of $750,000, but has the potential to change the paradigm for HIV testing and treatment to end new HIV infection throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. LHCF is targeting to support a community incentive program that creates employment and HIV awareness.
